How does Galen Rupp do it? How does he mix it with the best distance runners from Africa?
Summer 2013 is here with another mix of old and new...
Whey protein? You cant go anywhere without seeing it. Even supermarkets stock it. But what is it and what does it do?
During the 1980's the world was introduced to a concept which became known as Sports Nutrition. With health shops full of Supplements and magazines giving you all kinds of advice its hard to think that its only 30 years since the first Energy Bar was launched.
Running. The purest and most honest of sporting pursuits. But also a sport that for the last decade has had lots of negative press about how it damages your knees and your joints.
An interesting thing I learnt from an exceptionally good athlete while I was at Loughborough University was the ability to know when to stop. When to take your foot off the gas.
The importance of wearing a heart rate monitor for this is essential. After a couple of months of wearing one you should be in tune with where your heart rate sits given a level of effort.
For me I know that...
In the UK we like to talk about the weather. Also in the UK we like to run. So I thought it about time I wrote a blog about the combination of the two!
I have got a running route in London. This route in London is around Clapham mostly. I love my running route. With this route I can see where I am at physically depending on the time of year. I can see if I need to push my training or if I am too tired. This running route is home for me. The only problum with this running route is that I run it again and again and again and...
Loughborough University Athletics Club. Winners of the BUSA Athletics championships every year for nearly the last 3 decades. But how did it get to the position as a World renowned centre for Athletics and what is it like being there?
Will Usain Bolt dominate the sport of Athletics for another four years? In a nut-shell, Bolt is the greatest sprinter of all time. The double-double of Beijing and London was incredible and even more unbelievable considering the modern era of competition.
Single-handedly the man has brought the Sport of Athletics that we all love back into the mainstream to a level not seen since the 1980's. But can he do another four years? He seems to think he can...

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Menino this week announced the formation of The One Fund Boston.
“The One Fund Boston will act as a central fund to receive much needed financial support,” Governor Patrick said. “At moments like this, we are one state, one city, and one people.”
Mayor Menino added “We are one Boston. We are one community. As always, we will come together to help those most in need. And in the end, we will all be better for it,”
Running with music. A lot of runners wouldn’t dream of leaving the house without their trusted companion – the headphones. But does running with music help or is it a hindrance. Should running with music be banned in all races? Many would argue you get the ‘runners high’ in a bigger dose if you ‘run naked’; ie run with just the sound of mother-nature in your ears. Lets look at the arguments:
What better way to add a Spring to your step in your Spring running that by listening to the 4th installment of the RunBreeze Podcast!
I intend to update my blog monthly, giving insight into my preparation for the Virgin London Marathon; hopefully avoiding it being anything like ‘Jesse’s Diet’ from the Fast Show. Well, I hope it is more interesting than, “This week I have been mostly eating bourbon biscuits.”
I previously wrote an article on kinesiology tape, however I didn’t realise how little I knew about the product until I spoke to the guys at Rock Tape!
“The marathon is a charismatic event. It has everything. It has drama. It has camaraderie. It has heroism. Every jogger can’t dream of being an Olympic Champion, but he can dream of finishing a marathon.” – Fred Lebow, New York City Marathon co-founder.
Hello our fellow runners,
Events season kicks off next week for us at RunBreeze with our stand at The Triathlon Show in Sandown Park. We did the show last year and met some fantastic people.
The start of 'The National' is legendary.
