Run to work day!

Run to work day!

Everyone participating in Run To Work Day 2013 can now directly support those families most affected by the tragic events of 15th April at the Boston Marathon.

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Menino this week announced the formation of The One Fund Boston.

“The One Fund Boston will act as a central fund to receive much needed financial support,” Governor Patrick said. “At moments like this, we are one state, one city, and one people.”

Mayor Menino added “We are one Boston. We are one community. As always, we will come together to help those most in need. And in the end, we will all be better for it,”

Dan Teasel - Marathon Man

“The marathon is a charismatic event. It has everything. It has drama. It has camaraderie. It has heroism. Every jogger can’t dream of being an Olympic Champion, but he can dream of finishing a marathon.” – Fred Lebow, New York City Marathon co-founder.

Laura explains the effects of stretching on recovery and increased performance.

Stretching improves performance and recovery

No matter if you are a longer or shorter distance runner at some point in your training regime an element of stretching should be included. Many of you most likely already carry out some stretching and if you are not I strongly recommend you consider it.
